Darius' Relief at Bisitun

Darius' relief takes the form of the king and two high officials (on left), taking the submission of nine enemy chiefs. The leader of this coalition against the early rule of Darius, Gaumata, is shown beneath Darius' foot. Above the figures is the protective spirit of Faravahar, the spirit of the Zoroastrian god Ahura Mazda.
